History
Eddie Brock's cellmate in Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, Cletus Kasady witnessed as Brock reunited with his symbiote to transform into Venom and break out of Ravencroft. Little did the Venom symbiote and Brock know that the former had asexually reproduced. The blood-red symbiote offspring merged with Kasady into the sadistic monster Carnage, who in a few months would embark on a murder spree that required Spider-Man to team up with the Fantastic Four and Venom to stop it. Carnage, however, is perhaps most notorious for the Maximum Carnage event, in which an alliance of super-powered serial killers caused chaos and destruction throughout Manhattan. This time, Carnage and his gang were narrowly subdued by an alliance of superheroes led by Spider-Man and Venom.
Appearance
Carnage's symbiote takes the form of a red-and-black full-body suit with a monstrous grin and red lenses in the mask area. Carnage also has red tentacles extending from his back.
Abilities
- Web-Swinging: Carnage can navigate through New York City using his symbiote-created webs. He can traverse almost any surface, having a web swinging system similar to Spider-Man and games such as Spider-Man 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man.
- Wall-Crawl: Carnage can stick to and scale certain walls and surfaces.
- Enhanced Senses: Carnage has symbiote-enhanced senses.
- Impact Webbing: Carnage can use his symbiote to duplicate Spider-Man's impact webbing, which ensares all it strikes in webs. The system for this is similar to the gun targeting system.
- Web-Grapple: Carnage can latch onto special grapple points with his symbiote webs.
Trivia
- Carnage is the offspring of the Venom Symbiote.
- From looking at Carnage's gameplay it appears that Carnage is slightly faster than his fellow Symbiote Venom who's abilities are very similar. Carnage being faster than Venom is actually comic accurate.
- Carnage's special attack is to grab the enemy with a symbiote tentacle and smash him against the ground.
